As Vice President, Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress, Affreen has worked to encourage youth participation in public life and highlight concerns related to education, employment, social justice, and opportunities for young people. Her wider community engagement includes educational assistance, health awareness programmes, blood donation drives, tree plantation campaigns, cultural activities, and relief efforts during emergencies.

For Syed Affreen Muzaffar Hussain, Mira-Bhayandar is not simply the place she represents it is the place that shaped her. Born and brought up in a family deeply connected with the city’s social, educational and community life, she grew up witnessing the everyday concerns of its people and the responsibility that comes with serving them.
Her educational journey reflects a blend of academic learning and practical skills. She completed her schooling through Rashtriya Mukta Vidyalaya Shiksha Sansthan and went on to pursue diplomas in Event Management and Wedding Planning from the EMDI Institute of Media and Communication, Dubai.
Her entry into public life grew naturally from her involvement in youth and community initiatives. Rather than beginning with a political position, she became increasingly involved in programmes centred around students, women, youth, education and community welfare. This grassroots engagement eventually led her to active participation in the Indian National Congress and a larger public role in Mira-Bhayandar.Today, as a Corporator and Leader of Opposition in the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation and Vice President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress, she continues to build her public journey around the issues closest to the people of her city education, women’s participation, youth opportunities, civic concerns and community welfare.

What she’s actually done in office
As Corporator / Leader of Opposition
- Led a public protest at the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation headquarters over irregular and low-pressure water supply affecting several areas. A memorandum was subsequently submitted to the Municipal Commissioner seeking urgent corrective measures.
- Regularly engages with residents and raises civic concerns relating to infrastructure, public services and everyday municipal issues.
As Youth Congress Vice President
- Yuva Milap 2026 — 12 May 2026 organized in the Mira-Bhayander, which included recognition of Class 10 and 12 meritorious students and the launch of the “आवाज महाराष्ट्राचा, मीरा भाईंदरच्या परिवर्तनाचा” campaign. The programme also raised issues concerning gig workers’ rights, security and social protection.
- Through initiatives like “Chhatron Ki Goonj” and protests in Mira-Bhayandar, she has raised her voice against examination irregularities and demanded transparency and accountability in the education system. Her efforts focus on protecting students’ interests and ensuring that every student gets a fair and transparent examination process.
- Her documented work includes youth mobilisation around education, employment and social-justice issues.
Community Initiatives
- Through the Mira-Bhayandar Empowering Women Club, she has organised initiatives including the Ramadan Souk Exhibition, Mehendi Course Seminar, Baking Course Seminar and a Mother’s Day Special Free Medical Camp.
- Tree plantation and environmental awareness initiatives were undertaken on the occasion of Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji’s birthday, promoting environmental responsibility and encouraging the community to contribute towards a greener future.

काँग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खर्गेजी यांचा अपमान केल्याबद्दल त्यांचा अपमान केल्याबद्दल व मनुस्मृतीच्या निषेधार्थ युवक काँग्रेसकडून नागपुरातील संघ मुख्यालयावर मोर्चा काढण्यात आला. मनुस्मृती आणि आरएसएसच्या विचारधारेविरोधात जोरदार घोषणाबाजी करत निषेध व्यक्त केला.
मुंबई तसेच ठाणे जिल्ह्यात सुरू असलेल्या अतिमुसळधार पावसाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर आणि हवामान विभागाने जारी केलेल्या रेड अलर्ट लक्षात घेऊन, मिरा-भाईंदरकरांच्या सुरक्षिततेसाठी आज मी स्वतः प्रभागातील विविध भागांना भेट देऊन परिस्थितीचा प्रत्यक्ष आढावा घेतला.
सखल भागातील जलभराव, वाऱ्यामुळे पडलेली झाडे, नाले व पाणी निचरा व्यवस्था तसेच आपत्कालीन यंत्रणांच्या कार्याचा आढावा घेत संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यांना आवश्यक सूचना देण्यात आल्या.
🚨 उत्तरनकरांच्या आरोग्याशी तडजोड खपवून घेतली जाणार नाही!
उत्तन येथील रहिवाशांकडून सातत्याने मिळणाऱ्या तक्रारींची गंभीर दखल घेत, विरोधी पक्षनेत्या श्रीमती आफरीन सय्यद, गटनेते जय ठाकूर आणि काँग्रेस नगरसेवक शॉन कोलासो यांनी मिरा-भाईंदर महानगरपालिकेच्या अधिकाऱ्यांसह उत्तन येथील डंपिंग ग्राउंडची प्रत्यक्ष पाहणी केली.
अलीकडील मुसळधार पावसामुळे डंपिंग ग्राउंडमधील दूषित लीचेट (Leachate) पाणी निवासी भागातील नाल्यांमध्ये मिसळत असल्याचे पाहणीत निदर्शनास आले. त्यामुळे परिसरात दुर्गंधी, अस्वच्छता आणि नागरिकांच्या आरोग्यावर गंभीर परिणाम होण्याची शक्यता निर्माण झाली आहे.
स्थळ पाहणीनंतर संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यांना तात्काळ उपाययोजना करून लीचेट पाणी निवासी भागात जाणार नाही याची खात्री करण्याचे तसेच नागरिकांना या गंभीर समस्येतून त्वरित दिलासा देण्याचे स्पष्ट निर्देश देण्यात आले.
